I'm Achintha — an Associate Software Engineer at Cloud Syntex (Pvt) Ltd in Colombo, and a final-year Computer Science undergraduate at IIT, studying for a BSc (Hons) awarded by the University of Westminster.

My journey into software started with a simple question — how does this actually work? — and turned into a habit of building things to find out. Java desktop apps taught me OOP and layered architecture; today I build health-tech, streaming and logistics platforms with .NET Core, React, Next.js and Azure, guided by clean architecture and domain-driven design.

I'm especially interested in where robust engineering meets machine learning and intelligent systems. For my final-year research at IIT, I'm working on Stateful Subgraph Frontier Pruning for Edge-Based Conversational RAG.

Outside the editor, I bring a strong foundation in collaborative teamwork, student leadership, and problem solving. I speak English and Sinhala.

  1. Associate Software Engineer

    Dec 2025 — Aug 2026
    • Developed full-stack features for an AI-powered enterprise CRM, contributing across React, ASP.NET Core, APIs, databases, workflow automation, and UI/UX modernization.
    • Built a real-time notification infrastructure using ASP.NET, Centrifugo, Redis, and WebSockets, designed to offload persistent connection handling from application servers and support horizontal scaling.
    • Implemented and tested real-time infrastructure at 10,000+ simulated concurrent connections, focusing on low-latency message delivery and connection reliability.
    • Designed and developed an independent media-processing microservice using FFmpeg, ImageSharp, and ONNX models for image/video processing and automated content moderation.
    • Implemented asynchronous media-processing workflows with RabbitMQ, including retry handling, dead-letter queues, and message idempotency to improve fault tolerance.
    • Implemented direct client uploads & downloads using presigned URLs with S3-compatible object storage, reducing unnecessary media traffic through the application backend.
    • Contributed to adapting the enterprise platform for a public-sector disaster management system supporting large numbers of government users.

  2. Software Engineer Intern

    May 2025 — Nov 2025
    • Engineered feature prototypes & specialized internal tools to test architectural patterns.
    • Architected feature POCs to validate technical feasibility for main project implementations.
    • Developed robust .NET REST APIs and backend endpoints for internal services.
    • Designed & developed an advanced metadata parser tool supporting complex image and RAW file formats.
    • Broke complex problems into manageable tasks in an agile team; took part in code reviews and daily stand-ups.

  1. 2007

    Dhammissara National School

    Thirteen formative years in Nattandiya. Between serving as a school prefect, playing chess, joining the Western Band, and leading the Computer Club.

  2. 2018

    O/L Milestones & STEM Foundation

    Completed GCE Ordinary Level with 8 As and 1 B, sparking a lasting curiosity for technology, problem-solving, and building things from scratch.

  3. 2021

    Physical Science A/Ls

    Completed GCE Advanced Level in the Physical Science stream with B grades in Combined Mathematics and Physics, and a C in Chemistry.

  4. 2023

    Computer Science at IIT

    Began pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), affiliated with the University of Westminster.

  5. 2024

    Building StorySmart

    Developed StorySmart as an academic project—an interactive language-learning web application for children powered by React, Express, and LLM-driven storytelling.

  6. 2025

    Software Engineer Intern at Cloud Syntex

    Joined the engineering team in May. Focused on translating early proofs-of-concept into production-ready features and gaining hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle.

  7. 2026

    Transitioned to Associate Software Engineer

    Stepped into an associate role within six months. Collaborated closely with teammates, contributed to code reviews, helped guide project workflows, and worked on robust system architectures.
